So much has happened in the last month since
this event, it is impossible to share it all. During the
course of the afternoon, over 60 people spent some time
jamming on the things that matter most to them. We saw
some great demos, made new friends and expanded our view
of the world. You can read, listen and view more of the
event through "our
conversation" page (temporarily links to Technorati).
But before you do, joine me in lavishing praise on our
Patrons and all the organizers who helped pull the event
together - especially my girflfriend, Kristie
Wells and Brian
Shields from KRON4.
This whole thing could not have happened without them
and the other organizers
who helped pull it all together that day.
The event raised over $1,000 for the Internet
Archive and we are donating more than $100 to the
Creative Commons
fundraising drive. In our efforts to be a transparent
organization, we posted an overview
of the event financials for everyone to see who is
interested. My personal wrap up is here and you can still
visit the event Wiki,
the original event site and
the Insytes
Blog for more details. (the other pages from the
nav above will be linked soon 11/3-CH)

Next BrainJam
The BrainJams
Rent an Expert event is taking place on June 15, 2006
in San Francisco, CA. We still need a venue, though we
already have a few very good experts offering their skills
and experience to the community.
Web 2point1 2006 Just Announced!
Given the latest dustup over Tom
Rafferty being sued for holding a Web 2.0 event/conference/workshop/whatever,
we are officially announcing plans to hold another Web2point1
event that will probably be held on Novemeber 9-10, 2006.
More details to come as this becomes clear, but in keeping
with tradition, the cost for registration will be $3.29
- still 1/1000th of the cost of “that-phase-of-the-web-that-shall-happen-before-web-3.0
(no more, no less etc etc)” event taking place at
about the same time. (credit to Salim
Ismail for the very funny take ala Monty Python) All
registration feeds collected will be donated to Creative
Commons.
More details to come once we get through
the heckuva busy month that is May-June.
